Strawtown Koteewi Park, located in Hamilton County, near the town of Cicero, offers more than 800 acres of varied habitats, including 400 acres of restored prairie, which should be in full bloom for this trip.
Amanda Smith, Superintendent of Natural Resources and Education for Hamilton County Parks & Recreation, will be our guide for the prairie tour. Join us to find out why Hamilton County Parks received our 2024 Phyllis Yuhas Wildlife Habitat Preservation Award, in large part because of this beautiful property!
At 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, we’ll meet at the Taylor Center of Natural History parking lot, at 12308 Strawtown Ave., Noblesville. We’ll walk the trails through the prairie and, as time and interest allow, we may also check out other areas of the park.
NOTE: Restrooms will not be accessible before 10 a.m., so plan accordingly.
