The Indiana Audubon Society recently published an article about our chapter’s namesake, Robert Cooper, that was written by Terri Gorney Lehman. The article, which celebrates both Dr. Cooper and his wife Esther, is part of Terri’s Flight Paths Through History series, which explores the people, places, and moments that have shaped Indiana birding.
Terri, who is a member of our Audubon chapter, Three Rivers Birding, and Indiana Audubon, is a Hoosier historian and naturalist. You can read all of her Flight Paths Through History posts online, starting with “The Two Indiana Bird Women.”
Dr. Cooper was a biology professor at Ball State University and served as a major influence in our chapter’s early activities and growth.
