The Red-tail Nature Preserve is a beautiful 105-acre preserve located at the south end of Prairie Creek Reservoir. It offers easy walking on trails through a prairie restoration and wooded areas along both Prairie Creek and the Cardinal Greenway.
The eBird list for this site has 174 species, and 78 of them have been reported in May, including many warblers and other spring migrants. Which ones will we find? Gather at the preserve parking lot at 9 a.m., and we’ll find out!
From Muncie, take U.S. 35 south to County Rd. 650 S. Turn left (east) and go to the first stop sign. Turn left (north) there, onto County Rd. 461 E, and the preserve entrance will be on your left. Or just set your GPS to 10441 S County Rd. 461 E, Muncie.
